The trail below the natural bridge is covered in dead trees due to the winter ice storm. The trailhead down to the bridge has been cleared. Memorial Day weekend 2009.

Other than that, the trail offers sandstone caves, wet weather waterfall, small stream, and one of the largest natural bridges in the country. You actually walk across the bridge and follow the trail underneath for a panoramic view of the bridge. Very easy hike! - Mike Hall

  Arkansas is a great place for hikers. Can’t wait to get out in nature, Alum Cove National Recreation Trail in Newton County, Arkansas is a great place to go. There are many hiking trails in the Boston Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. All the water falling down from the sky makes Alum Cove National Recreation Trail a wet location; the month with most of the rain is May while January is regularly the driest month.
So much exciting stuff to do here in the Boston Mountains, too brilliant to be true. Take a little tour to Little
    Buffalo Creek while you're here at Alum Cove National Recreation Trail; you can run the rapids of Shop Creek - West Fork. Summertime highs at Alum Cove National Recreation Trail usually tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. During the wintertime
this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Alum Cove National Recreation Trail.
Pretty far from Harrison you find Alum Cove National Recreation Trail but it is a really good trail. Looking for some flowing water? Try Barberry Creek, and there's whitewater on Sandy Springs Hollow for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This location rocks, just check out all the entertaining things to do in close proximity to Alum Cove National Recreation Trail. Camping is available at Dogwood Campground.
