| | Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Barr Trail in El Paso County, Colorado is just the place. Barr Trail gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is July, and January is the month with the least moisture. Barr Trail is a trail quite far from Colorado Springs but it is one of many great trails in this area.
While visiting this area in Colorado it's a good idea to go hiking too. During the summertime months at Barr Trail temperatures are usually in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. |
The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Barr Trail. Do pay a visit to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument if you're here at Barr Trail; since you're here at Barr Trail it's a nice idea to stop at The Crater.
Barr Trail is nice enough
| to spend more than a day at, Rocky Top Motel and Campground is a nice local campground; if you're stopping by from Colorado Springs, you won't be the only one. All the outdoors fun things in the Front Range will keep you coming back many times. South Platte River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. There's so much to do here at Barr Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Lone Duck Campground is a magnificent site for that.
In the Front Range there are many great hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. | |
