| | Big Creek Lake Trail is very far from the nearest big city and it is a good trail. Hiking trails are all over the Park Range where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Summertime at Big Creek Lake Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Big Creek Lake Trail descend into the-10's. This is such a wonderful river. Horse Thief Park is a good spot, and whitewater |
paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Elk River.
Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Park Range. There are some great whitewater spots on Elk River; you can stay the night at Summit Lake Campground. Some of the water close by flows,
| like Porcupine Creek. There's so much to do here at Big Creek Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Dry Lake Campground is a great spot for that.
Big Creek Lake Trail is usually a relatively dehydrated spot; December is when you get the most snow here, and the driest of the months is August. Can’t wait to get out in nature, Big Creek Lake Trail in Routt County, Colorado is a great place to go.
