  This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, Coal Creek Trail in Mesa County, Colorado is a perfect place for getting out. It's a long drive from Grand Junction to Coal Creek Trail but It's always fun to hike here. Drift down the rapids of Colorado River in a kayak; a trip here wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Sweitzer State Park. Looking for some flowing water? Try Skunk Creek,
    and Coal Creek Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Jumbo Reservoir Campground is a great local campground. Sheep Creek is a wonderful local stream, and camping at Glacier Spring Campground is always a wonderful experience.
Coal Creek Trail is a site with many visitors from Mesa, and paddling on Kannah Creek is so much fun. Yep, outdoors exciting things to do are really plentiful here at Coal Creek Trail. All through the summer at Coal Creek Trail highs are commonly in the 90's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's with temperatures at Coal Creek Trail dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Not  
much precipitation falls here at Coal Creek Trail. All through the month of October you get the most rain around here; January is when it's the driest.
