| | In the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains there are many great hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Cottonwood Trail is a trail quite far from Montrose but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Cottonwood Trail while night lows are frequently in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows at Cottonwood Trail during the winter typically fall into the 10's. Not much rain falls here at Cottonwood Trail; October is the wettest month with most rain while June is |
ordinarily the driest month.
Yeah, come up here to the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains for a magnificent time. Don't forget to take a nice little tour to South Fork Cottonwood Creek, and there's whitewater on San Miguel River for all you thrill seekers. Put on your hiking shoes

There are plenty of folks from Montrose here at Cottonwood Trail; if you came to camp Antone Spring Campground is a great place to do that. Camping at Iron Spring Campground is always a brilliant experience, and you can run the rapids of San Miguel River.
