| | Cottonwood Trail is not very near Montrose at all but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. This part of Colorado has a great deal of available outdoors activities. Can’t wait to get out in nature, Cottonwood Trail in Montrose County, Colorado is just what you need. During the warm months, highs regularly are in the 90's at Cottonwood Trail, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Cottonwood Trail sink into the 10's.

is such a fun river. South Fork Cottonwood Creek is near Cottonwood Trail and is always a delight to stop at, and soar down the rapids of San Miguel River in a kayak. Hiking trails are all over the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Cottonwood
| Trail is generally a quite dehydrated site; most of the rain falls through October while June is regularly the driest month.
If you came for an overnight stay Iron Spring Campground is a fine site to camp; get wet paddling on San Miguel River.
And if that's not enough there's plenty more entertaining things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. While you're here at Cottonwood Trail you will meet lots of folks from nearby Montrose, and camping is available at Antone Spring Campground. | |
