Get your heart beating on the brilliant whitewater of San Juan River. Morfield Campground is a fine local campground, and the views at Mesa Verde National Park will blow your mind.
East Rim Trail is a very long way away from civilization and hiking it is great fun any time. At East Rim Trail all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures |

| Rest is a great place to camp nearby, and there's whitewater on Dolores River for all you adrenaline kick people.
In the Mesa Verde there are many great hiking trails where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. East Rim Trail is mostly a reasonably dry place; of all the months in a year October is the one with the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season.
