Taylor River is a delightful whitewater spot close to Fossil Ridge Trail, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gunnison River. Comanche Campground is a good campground nearby, and since you're here why not explore Stag Gulch.
Why not pop by close by West Fork Alder Creek since you're here at Fossil Ridge Trail, and you can stay the night at Gold Creek Campground. Not much rainfall falls here at Fossil Ridge |
Trail; December is when you get the most snow here, and June meanwhile is the driest month. Don't miss out on a visit to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park while you're here at Fossil Ridge Trail; don't forget to take a fine little journey to East Fork Alder Creek.
