Hitting the trails is always a fun thing to do and if you happen to be in Archuleta County of Colorado, Fourmile Stock Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the San Juan Mountains. If you came to camp Elk Meadows Camping is a perfect site to do that, and why not take a little spree to Cade Creek since you're here. Get yourself into a kayak and hit San Juan River - East Fork, and |
if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Falls Creek.
Fourmile Stock Trail being so far away from the nearest city it is a really good trail. Through the summertime months at Fourmile Stock Trail highs are generally in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the
| 30's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Fourmile Stock Trail are in the-10's.
A river like this is too good to miss. Fourmile Stock Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Pagosa Riverside Campground is a fine local campground, and soar down the rapids of San Juan River in a kayak. In the San Juan Mountains there are many great hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you. Fourmile Stock Trail gets very little precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
