| | Colorado is a good place for outdoors people. Gilsonite Trail is quite far from the nearest urban center and it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. Why not camp at Willow Creek Campground if you're here at Gilsonite Trail, and Willow Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Colorado River. Gilsonite Trail is pretty dry ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of |
precipitation. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Gilsonite Trail reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 30's. Highs all through the winter are ordinarily in the 20's with temperatures at Gilsonite Trail dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Pony Park is a wonderful site to check out, and if you came for an overnight stay Sawmill Gulch Campground is a great place to camp.
