Camping at Cement Creek Campground is always a splendid experience, and why not a little side trip to Slumgullion Creek. It is very dry here at Granite Basin Trail generally; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

paddling on Gunnison River is so much fun. This is a really good river. Do set aside some time for Granite Basin since you're here at Granite Basin Trail; whitewater paddling is perfect on Taylor River.
