| | Hiking here in Colorado is a must. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Gunnison Trail in Mesa County, Colorado is a really good place to spend some time. Camping is available at Dominguez Campground; Escalante Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by.
If you came for an overnight stay Smokehouse Campground is a tremendous site to camp. Hiking trails are all over the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, it's a great hiking area. High temperatures at Gunnison Trail during the summer months are in the 90's; during summer nights temperatures |
are in the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's with temperatures at Gunnison Trail dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
Gunnison Trail is located quite a long drive from Montrose but hiking it is always fun. Be careful coming
| to the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. West Palmer Gulch is a perfect site to pop by in the vicinity of Gunnison Trail; paddling on Kannah Creek is so much fun. It is very arid here at Gunnison Trail commonly; of all the months in a year October is the one with the most rain; January is the month with the least moisture.
