Hankins Trail

  Outdoors people generally like this part of Colorado. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and Hankins Trail in Park County, Colorado is such a great place. In the Front Range you'll find lots of hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains.
A long drive separates Canon City from Hankins Trail, but It's always fun to hike here. Visiting Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do
    if you haven't yet. Get yourself into a kayak and hit South Platte River, and Hankins Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Goose Creek Campground is a great local campground. While you're here at Hankins Trail it's a
pleasant idea to visit Lake Park. Camping at Spruce Campground is always a good experience, and places like Pike National Forest are tremendous to pop by. Lots of people from Lake George come to Hankins Trail; there are some tremendous whitewater spots on South Platte River - North Fork. You absolutely must love Hankins Trail. Hankins Trail is right next door to Hankins Pass which is unquestionably worth visiting. For the period of the summer at Hankins Trail highs  
are generally in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Hankins Trail sink into the 0's. Hankins Trail gets very little precipitation.
