Through the long summer days here at Hankins Trail, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hankins Trail are in the 0's. Colorado is a great place for hikers.

Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Hankins Pass is in close proximity to Hankins Trail and is a great location. There's so much to do here at Hankins Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Goose Creek Campground is a great
| spot for that.
Hankins Trail is a very long way away from civilization and many people like to hike here to be close to nature. Hankins Trail is pretty arid frequently; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest of the months is January. Having a good time in the Front Range is trouble-free. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on South Platte River, and Hankins Trail is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Spruce Campground is a pleasant local campground.
