| | You'll have to go far from Montrose to get to Horsefly Trail but hiking it is always fun. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. A short journey to Dollarhide Spring is always worthwhile, and folks from Montrose love to come here.
Horsefly Trail is a location that is quite arid usually; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month of the year is February. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre |
Plateau Mountains. Sanborn Park is a great place to check out; if you're here, you could go to Hanks Creek. Stay the night at Antone Spring Campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend San Miguel River.

Horsefly Trail is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Iron Spring Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby, and a quick journey to South Fork Clay Creek is unquestionably a splendid idea.
