  Colorado is a great place for hikers. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Front Range, it's a great hiking area. Around Lake Park Trail you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; January is the month with the least moisture. Lake Park Trail is very far from the nearest big city and if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice.
Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Lake Park Trail in Park County, Colorado is just what you
    need. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on South Platte River; some wonderful nature is available in Pike National Forest. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Front Range. Camping at Lake Park
Trail is nice fun, Spruce Grove Campground is a nice local campground, and South Platte River - North Fork has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby.
During the warm days of summer at Lake Park Trail temperatures are generally in the 70's, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, usually in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Park Trail are in the 0's. A trip to Lake Park rejuvenates the spirit; a brilliant place close by is Hankins Pass. That right there is loads
 
already, but it keeps on going; Lake Park Trail has it all.
If you came for an overnight stay Spruce Campground is a fine site to camp; a visit to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is recommended.
