Leche Creek Trail

The summit is well described in Leslie Ryan's piece ''The Mountain'', to be found in the anthology of western writing called ''Getting Over The Color Green'' (ed. by Scott Slovic).  As for the trail - solitude, vistas, elk, and not the best of mountain water (hence the ''leche'' appellation)... Well worth visiting for a short trip.

You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Leche Creek Trail in Archuleta
County, Colorado is just what you need. In Colorado you never run out of outdoors fun. Hiking trails are all over the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains.
A long drive separates Espanola
from Leche Creek Trail, but if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. There are plenty of people from Chromo here at Leche Creek Trail; Navajo River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. There's no way someone can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Camping at Acres Green RV Park is always a delightful experience; paddling on Navajo River is so much fun. If you came to camp Blanco River Campground is a pleasant
location to do that. Leche Creek Trail is a location that is relatively arid regularly. The wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most while June is typically the driest month. Summer at Leche Creek Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's.
