| | Loop Trail is in a quite desolate area and it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. Looking for a brilliant journey? Great Sand Dunes National Monument is relatively close to Loop Trail, and a splendid place to camp here at Loop Trail is Lake Creek Campground. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Loop Trail. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Loop Trail.
It is very dehydrated here at Loop Trail generally; August is the wettest |
month with most rain; the driest of the months is January. Take a side visit to Lake Fork North Crestone Creek; Groundhog Basin is a good place here at Loop Trail. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Loop Trail in Saguache County, Colorado is the outdoors at it's best.
| Hiking trails are all over the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, it's a great hiking area. And if that's not enough there's lots more amusing things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Since you're here at Loop Trail why not stop by Venable Pass, and Loop Trail is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, North Crestone Campground is a pleasant local campground. Middle Fork North Crestone Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth stopping at.
