| | As long as you like the outdoors you will like Colorado. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Main Fork Trail in Jackson County, Colorado is a perfect place for getting out. Throughout the summer months highs here at Main Fork Trail reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Main Fork Trail fall into the 0's. Because Main Fork Trail is very far from civilization it is a good trail.

this river is always a good idea. Main Fork Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Beaver Creek Campground is a fine local campground. Do set aside some time for Encampment Meadows if you're here at Main Fork Trail, and you can run the rapids of Elk River. In the Park
| Range you'll find lots of hiking trails where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains.
Be careful coming to the Park Range, you might not ever want to go back home again. Camping at Lakeside Campground is always a tremendous experience, and Encampment River is a splendid whitewater spot close by. Main Fork Trail gets very little precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
