The north side of the mansfield trail is hikable and in decent shape,, the lower side below the clark trail cutoff is nearly overgrown and has no water sources

| | This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Mansfield Ditch Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Rifle Falls is a magnificent site for that, and obviously Clark Creek flows through this area. Mansfield Ditch Trail is very far from the nearest big city and it sure is a nice trail.
Cherry Creek is a stream that you may bump into while you're here. Mansfield Ditch Trail is commonly a pretty dried out place; of all the months in a year October is the one |
with the most rain, and the driest month is February. A pleasant spree to Calhoun Basin is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon, and in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on White River - South Fork.
