In the Park Range there are many great hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Elk River. In Colorado you never run out of outdoors fun.
Many miles from the nearest city you have Mica Basin Trail and it sure is a nice trail. Beaver Creek Campground is a good campground nearby; Mica Basin is a great site to check out. |
Mica Basin Trail is a location that is relatively dry mostly; April is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Park Range. Encampment River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby, and don't forget
| to take a great little trip to Gilpin Creek. Summertime at Mica Basin Trail comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. During the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Mica Basin Trail descend into the 10's.
