Nearby Montgomery Pass is a delightful location to go if you're at Montgomery Pass Trail, and the scenery at Joe Wright Dam is gorgeous. This river has it all. Camping at Ranger Lakes Campground is always a splendid experience; Cache La Poudre River is a great whitewater spot close by. There's some flowing water nearby, Montgomery Creek is a stream you can go to during your stay. Around Montgomery Pass Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls through May,     and January is the month with the least moisture. If you came to camp Craig Campground is a nice place to do that, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Joe Wright Creek. At Montgomery Pass Trail during the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 30's.
