| | If you are in Colorado during hiking season you have to go hiking. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Park Range where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Ptarmigan Trail is ordinarily a pretty dried up location; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

sun is down through the winter temperatures at Ptarmigan Trail descend into the 0's. A long drive separates Silverthorne from Ptarmigan Trail, but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is plentiful here in the
| Park Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Blue River; camping is available at Sentinel Island Campground.
Why not camp at Heaton Campground while you're here at Ptarmigan Trail. Float down the rapids of Tenmile Creek in a kayak; let's not forget Willow Creek which is a stream that you may come across during your stay. Gotta get out of the city man, and Ptarmigan Trail in Summit County, Colorado is the outdoors at it's best.
