Quartz Ridge Trail

  You'll have to go far from Durango to get to Quartz Ridge Trail but it is a really good trail. Gotta get out of the city man, and Quartz Ridge Trail in Archuleta County, Colorado is just the place. If you are in Colorado during hiking season you have to go hiking. In the San Juan and Jemez Mountains there are many great hiking trails, it's a great hiking area.
Stay the night at West Fork Campground, and you can run the rapids of San Juan River - East
    Fork. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. There's so much to do here at Quartz Ridge Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Pagosa Riverside Campground
is a tremendous location for that. Wolf Creek is a nice whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Quartz Ridge Trail. Through the summer at Quartz Ridge Trail highs are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Quartz Ridge Trail plunge into the 0's. Not much rainfall falls here at Quartz Ridge Trail. The  
wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and June is the month with the least moisture.
