| | You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Rainbow Trail in Mineral County, Colorado is a great place to go. Hiking trails are all over the San Juan and Jemez Mountains where beautiful scenery awaits you. There's whitewater on San Juan River - East Fork for all you thrill seekers; why not a little side tour to Cimarron Creek. Rainbow Trail is pretty dry ordinarily; July is the wettest month with most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
This part of Colorado is always a pleasure |
to visit during hiking season. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There are some good whitewater spots on Wolf Creek, and hey, Rainbow Creek is a brilliant local stream.
If you came for an overnight stay West Fork Campground is
| a good place to camp, and Ivy Creek Campground and Trailhead is a perfect local campground. Summer at Rainbow Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 70's while night lows are regularly in the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; night lows in the-10's for Rainbow Trail.
Rainbow Trail is in a quite desolate area and it sure is a nice trail. | |
