Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Ray Trail in Montrose County, Colorado is a perfect place for getting out. At Ray Trail you don’t see much rainfall; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is June.
This is such a great river. This is a popular location for folks from Montrose. Hiking trails are all over the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these |
mountains. If you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some great whitewater, and Ray Trail is a pleasant site to camp, Smokehouse Campground is a pleasant site.
All through the warm days of summer highs here at Ray Trail get into the 90's; the nighttime
| is somewhat cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Ray Trail dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. If you are in Colorado during hiking season you have to go hiking. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is plentiful here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit San Miguel River, and you can stay the night at Antone Spring Campground.
