| | Hiking in Colorado is such a great thing to do. Ray Trail is a location that is reasonably arid typically; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is when it's the driest. Through the months of summer highs here at Ray Trail get into the 90's; the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Ray Trail dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.

the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Camping at Smokehouse Campground is always a great experience, and lots of people from Montrose come here. A perfect site to camp here at Ray Trail is High Country Recreational Vehicle Park, and San Miguel River has a tremendous whitewater paddling
| spot close by.
Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Pretty far from Montrose you find Ray Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and Ray Trail in Montrose County, Colorado is just what you need.
