| | Rito Alto Trail being so far away from the nearest city It's always fun to hike here. Gotta get out of the city man, and if you happen to be in Saguache County of Colorado, Rito Alto Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. At Rito Alto Trail during the warm months highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's; nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Rito Alto Trail |

It is very waterless here at Rito Alto Trail typically; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. In the Sangre De Cristo Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you.
| Get yourself into a kayak and hit Arkansas River. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. A nice site like Groundhog Basin here at Rito Alto Trail is too splendid to miss; Lake Creek Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. Since you're here at Rito Alto Trail why not take a look at Hermit Pass, and North Crestone Campground is a wonderful local campground.
