Rolling Creek Trail

Beautiful and Brutal. If you plan on using the entire Rolling Creek Trail to get to Wigwam Park please be advised that while the scenery is outstanding there is a 2300 ft. vertical ascent (in 3 miles) about 2 miles in that will take a backpacker at least 3 hours to complete. Pack light and eat your Wheaties. Don't forget your camera!
Says Nick

Hiking in Colorado is such a great thing to do. In the Front Range you'll find lots of hiking trails, it's
a great hiking area. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Rolling Creek Trail in Park County, Colorado is just what you need.
You'll have to go far from Denver-Aurora to get to Rolling Creek Trail but there's
great natural beauty awaiting you along it. This is a popular spot for people from Pine; a tour here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Pike National Forest. So much cool stuff in the Front Range, just impressive. If you come at the right time of year, South Platte River - North Fork offers some fine whitewater. Everybody loves Wigwam Park; camping is available at Buffalo Creek Campground. There are some great whitewater spots on South Platte
River - North Fork, and camping at Tramway Campground is always a perfect experience. During the long summer days at Rolling Creek Trail highs are regularly in the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Rolling Creek Trail plunge into the 0's.
