In the Sangre De Cristo Mountains there are many great hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Not much rain falls here at Second Mace Trail; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is January.

| the warm days of summer here at Second Mace Trail, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Second Mace Trail fall into the 20's.
A wonderful location like Potato Park here at Second Mace Trail is too good to miss, and a glorious location to camp here at Second Mace Trail is North Creek Campground. | |
