Surprise Trail is a trail quite far from Silverthorne but what a great place for hiking it is. And if that's not enough there's loads more enjoyable stuff to do in the Park Range. You can run the rapids of Blue River close to Surprise Trail. There's so much to do here at Surprise Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Big Green Campground is a great place for that. This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season.

There are many hiking trails in the Park Range where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. A perfect place for whitewater paddling close to Surprise Trail is Blue River.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Surprise Trail. When the night sets in temperatures
| descend down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Surprise Trail dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Not much precipitation falls here at Surprise Trail; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. People from Silverthorne love to come to Surprise Trail; Surprise Trail is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Cow Creek Campground is a tremendous local campground.
