The Meadows Trail

  A visit to Colorado is not complete without some hiking. Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, The Meadows Trail in Montrose County, Colorado is just the place.
You'll have to go far from Montrose to get to The Meadows Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. Camping at High Country Recreational
    Vehicle Park is always a magnificent experience; whitewater paddling is magnificent on Escalante Creek. And that's not all there is to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. The Meadows Trail is delightful enough to spend more
than a day at, T Bone Spring Campground is a delightful local campground. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Miguel River. A journey to Gypsy Park invigorates the spirit; you'll possibly meet some folks from Nucla here. Everybody loves Uncompahgre National Forest. The Meadows Trail is typically a pretty waterless site. August is the month that gets the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. During the  
long summer days, highs commonly are in the 90's at The Meadows Trail. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at The Meadows Trail fall into the 10's.
