| | This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Transfer Trail in Montrose County, Colorado is such a great place. This is such a fun river. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Transfer Trail has to offer, you can camp at Iron Spring Campground, and you can run the rapids of San Miguel River.

It's a long drive from Montrose to Transfer Trail but it is a good trail. Stay the night at Antone Spring Campground, and there are plenty of people from Montrose here at Transfer Trail. Around Transfer Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year October
| is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
High temperatures at Transfer Trail throughout the warm days of summer are in the 90's with night lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Transfer Trail fall into the 10's. Man, is there plenty of fun stuff to do in the vicinity of Transfer Trail.
