Zimmerman Trail is in a quite desolate area and what a great place for hiking it is. In the Medicine Bow Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you. There's so much to do here at Zimmerman Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Big South Campground is a magnificent location for that, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Joe Wright Creek. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Zimmerman Trail in Larimer County,     Colorado is just the place. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cache La Poudre River, and why not take a little spree to West Fork Sheep Creek while you're here. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Medicine Bow Mountains. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Zimmerman Trail has to offer, you can camp at Sleping Elephant Campground, and some close by water includes East Fork Sheep Creek. Not much precipitation falls here at Zimmerman Trail; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Zimmerman Trail, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's.
