| from New Haven-Milford but when you hike it you're always having a good time. Hammonasset River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can stay the night at Little City Campground. The high level of rainfall makes Mattabesset Trail a quite wet site; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. What a place this is for outdoors people.
