| | Finally, hiking time is here again, and Mattabesset Trail in New Haven County, Connecticut is a great place to go. Mattabesset Trail gets a good deal of water; through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Mattabesset Trail.
During the warmest time of the year at Mattabesset Trail highs are frequently in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights |
at Mattabesset Trail are in the 10's. Mattabesset Trail is a long drive away from New Haven-Milford but hiking it is always fun. Take a side journey to Hemlock Brook, and Wadsworth Falls State Park is a scenic location any time of year.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hammonasset
| River; camping at Hammonasset Beach State Park is always a great experience. Not far from Mattabesset Trail you obtain some brilliant water scenery at Lane Pond Dam; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Roaring Brook River. Mattabesset Trail is not far at all from New Haven-Milford, and if you came to camp Little City Campground is a glorious location to do that.
