| | Metacomet Trail is a trail quite far from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford but hiking it is always fun. Connecticut is a good place for outdoors people. Thompson Brook is a stream that you may run into while here, and Farmington River - Collinsville has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. At Metacomet Trail you always meet someone from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford; there's always Talcott Reservoir Main Dam to take a look at near Metacomet Trail.

Brainard Forest. If you came for an overnight stay Golden Acres Campground is a fine location to camp, and Talcott Mountain State Park is worth a visit. Metacomet Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least
| moisture.
That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Metacomet Trail has it all. Camping at Metacomet Trail is good fun, American Legion State Forest is a good local campground. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Metacomet Trail, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, regularly in the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Metacomet Trail temperatures plunge to the 10's.
