Camping at Hammonasset Beach State Park is always a wonderful experience, and getting to Asmun Brook from Washington Trail is painless. You can run the rapids of Roaring Brook River next to Washington Trail, and Washington Trail is in close proximity to Wadsworth Falls State Park which is a striking place.

| can take a little tour to Ulbrich Reservoir Dam since you're here at Washington Trail.
It's a long drive from New Haven-Milford to Washington Trail but it's one of those places where hiking is great. Three Notches is close to Washington Trail and is a glorious site, and there's whitewater on Hammonasset River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Summer at Washington Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Washington Trail all through the winter regularly drop into the 10's.
