West Woods Trail is not very near New Haven-Milford at all but what a great place for hiking it is. Through the summertime months highs here at West Woods Trail reach the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for West Woods Trail.

wet spot; through the month of April you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Hotchkiss Grove Beach is close to West Woods Trail if you're in a beach type of mood, and camping is available at Riverdale Camp Sites. There's some flowing water
| close by, Chestnut Branch is a stream you can visit while you're here, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from New Haven-Milford for sure.
Mermaid Rock is a delightful place to take a look at near West Woods Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Hammonasset River offers some great whitewater. Not far from West Woods Trail you stumble on Hoadley Point; on a brilliant day it's a tremendous idea to spend the day at Hotchkiss Cove Beach. Hoadley Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to.
