User input for Three Forks Trail, Blue Ridge Mountains, Rabun County, Georgia:
3Fork Traveler: Been there back in the 60's when I was 9, the 70's, and the 80's while in college. Want to go back and take my sons some day soon. Bury me at Three Forks has it right: no cars, no trash, and not for the faint of heart and definitely not an easy place to get to. A very special place in one of the great parks of this nation. Treasure it.
Susan & Phil: The trail and campsite were nice, but someone had pried open the back sliding glass on our pickup with a screwdriver. They mostly just rummaged thru got a couple cds and a cell phone charger, but the glass is expensive. A friend got robbed @ big bend on the Chattooga river not far away in like 2002. Bring your valuables with you on the trail!
Ashton Zanecki: Very very scattered trash as I saw, and there were no people other than like a car passing sometimes. Beautiful area. Be aware that a wilderness camp is operated around this area and campers in groups of up to 15 may be present.
Chris: Went the other day. No trash and other than 4 hippies no one out there and there wasn't any trash. Great time.
Bury me at Three Forks: 'Too crowded, locals and lots of trash'' That's disturbing. As a ''local'', I used to frequently hike into Three Forks back in the '70's and '80's - I haven't been there for about 10-15 years, but always think about going back. When I used to visit Three Forks, the trails were poorly established at the far end of the the trail - I usually bushwhacked my way down to the rivers over the last quarter to half mile.
