  This part of Idaho is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. Hiking trails are all over the Salmon River Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Salmon River Mountains has to offer. Lodgepole Campground is a magnificent campground here, and while you're here, you could go to South Fork Blackmare Creek.
Cougar Ridge Trail gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest of the months
    is July. If you came for an overnight stay Poverty Flat Campground is a tremendous place to camp, and Salmon River - South Fork is a wonderful whitewater spot close by. All through the months of summer at Cougar Ridge Trail highs are generally in the 80's, and the nighttime is
a tad colder of course, frequently in the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and night lows through the wintertime for Cougar Ridge Trail tend to be in the 10's.
This river is always fun. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Salmon River - South Fork; naturally Bluff Creek flows through this vicinity.
