  This part of Idaho has a great deal of available outdoors activities. Far from civilization you find Goat Creek Trail and it's one of those places where hiking is great. Goat Creek Trail gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Eagan Creek. There's so much to do here at Goat Creek Trail that you need to camp here for a while,
    Papoose Creek Campground is a perfect site for that. Hiking trails are all over the Salmon River Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Goat Creek is a great place to visit, and Goat Basin is a brilliant spot to stretch your legs a bit.

Near Goat Creek Trail you discover Big Creek Gorge which is a glorious place to explore. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Goat Creek Trail has to offer, you can camp at Elk Bar Campground. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Monumental Creek, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Big Creek. During the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 70's at Goat Creek Trail with overnight lows in the 30's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Goat Creek Trail.
