While visiting this area in Idaho it's a good idea to go hiking too. Porcupine Lake Campground is a nice local campground, and there's some flowing water nearby, Treble Creek is a stream you can take a look at during your stay. If you come at the right time of year, Kootenai offers some good whitewater, and let's not forget Chute Creek which is a stream that you may run into while here.
Hemlock Trail is a location that is reasonably arid mostly; most of the rain falls all through November while July is mostly the driest month. Whitewater paddling is not
for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pack River, and if you came for an overnight stay Twin Rivers Canyon Resort is a good place to camp.
