A long drive separates Mountain Home from Kirkham Ridge Trail, but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. Camping at Sack Creek Campground is always
    a great experience, and the wonderful folks of Lowman like to hang out nearby. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. If you came to camp Helende Campground is a nice place to
do that, and whitewater paddling is nice on Deadwood River. South Fork Clear Creek is a stream that you may stumble upon while you're here. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bear Valley Creek. The warmest time of the year at Kirkham Ridge Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Kirkham  
Ridge Trail. The annual rain here at Kirkham Ridge Trail is about average. The month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
