Hiking trails are all over the Bitterroot Range where beautiful scenery awaits you. Far from civilization you find Old Montana Trail and hiking it is great fun any time.

through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Old Montana Trail tend to be in the 20's.
Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Bitterroot Range. Little North Fork
| Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and St. Joe River - Skookum Canyon is a delightful whitewater spot close by. Twin Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground, and Rutledge Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. A nice site for whitewater paddling close to Old Montana Trail is Clearwater River - Little North Fork; there's some flowing water close by, Mowich Creek is a stream you can explore during your stay.
