  This part of Idaho is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? Onion Valley Trail in Boise County, Idaho is a good choice. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Payette River - South Fork.
Around Onion Valley Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you come at the right time of year, Payette River - Middle Fork offers some pleasant
    whitewater, and why not camp at Forks Of Big Pine Creek Campground since you're here at Onion Valley Trail. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Salmon River Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.
And if that's not sufficient there's
lots more entertaining things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Onion Valley Trail is next to Onion Valley which is undeniably worth visiting, and a great place to camp here at Onion Valley Trail is Packsaddle Campground. Onion Valley Trail is quite far from the nearest urban center and when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Throughout the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Onion Valley Trail. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are regularly in the 20's; night lows at Onion Valley Trail through the wintertime ordinarily dip into the 10's.
