Hitting the trails is always a fun thing to do and Rice Peak Trail in Valley County, Idaho is a really good place to spend some time. Far from civilization you find Rice Peak Trail and it is a good trail. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Salmon River Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.

You'll need more than a day to discover everything Rice Peak Trail has to offer, you can camp at Deer Flat Campground, and why not take a little tour to Stratton Creek since you're here. Rice Peak Trail is a location that is pretty dehydrated typically; January is the month that gets the most snow; July is when it's the driest.
