  Hiking here in Idaho is a must. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Salmon River Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Shellrock Ridge Trail in Valley County, Idaho is just what you need. The annual rainfall here at Shellrock Ridge Trail is about average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest month is July.
This is a great river. Shellrock Ridge Trail is in a quite desolate area and it is a fun place to hike
    for the whole family.
Salmon River - Middle Fork is a perfect whitewater spot near Shellrock Ridge Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Shellrock Ridge Trail has to offer, you can camp at Marble Creek Campground 1. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Shellrock
Ridge Trail. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 30's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Shellrock Ridge Trail temperatures fall to the 0's. All year is a good time in the Salmon River Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Monumental Creek. There's so much to do here at Shellrock Ridge Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Marble Creek Campground 2 is a brilliant place for that.
