Not much precipitation falls here at Sixmile Trail; during the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July is when it's the driest. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting things the Salmon River Mountains has to offer. A splendid site to camp here at Sixmile Trail is Rattlesnake Campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try West Fork Sixmile Creek. Why not |
camp at Trail Creek Campground while you're here at Sixmile Trail, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Payette River - Middle Fork. Paddling on Payette River - Middle Fork is so much fun. Sixmile Trail is a very long way away from civilization and hiking it is great fun
| any time. For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 80's at Sixmile Trail, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sixmile Trail. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Salmon River Mountains, it's a great hiking area.
