  We all need to get out in nature once in a while and if you happen to be in Shoshone County of Idaho, Slate Divide Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the Bitterroot Range where beautiful scenery awaits you. There's some flowing water nearby, Moon Creek is a stream you can visit during your stay, and St. Joe River - Skookum Canyon is a delightful whitewater spot close by. A common amount of rain falls here at Slate Divide Trail; through the month of January you get the most snow around
    here, and the driest of the months is July.
Slate Divide Trail is a very long way away from civilization and hiking it is great fun any time. This is such a wonderful river. A great location for whitewater paddling right next door to Slate Divide Trail is St. Joe River - North
Fork, and Callahan Creek is next to Slate Divide Trail and is always a joy to take a look at. Having a delightful time in the Bitterroot Range is simple. A good place to camp here at Slate Divide Trail is Down By The Depot RV Park, and a great place is Moon Pass.
Camping is available at Squaw Creek Campground. High temperatures at Slate Divide Trail during the long summer days are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Slate Divide Trail.
While visiting this area in Idaho it's a good idea to go hiking too.
