Far from civilization you find South Fork Trail and it is a great escape from the city. In the Salmon River Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Salmon River Mountains. A splendid place for whitewater paddling next to South Fork Trail is Monumental Creek.
    There's so much to do here at South Fork Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Rattlesnake Creek Campground is a nice site for that.
It is very dry here at South Fork Trail regularly; most of the rain falls throughout June while February is the month with the least
amount of precipitation. Through the days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at South Fork Trail while night lows are usually in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at South Fork Trail fall into the 0's. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and South Fork Trail in Lemhi County, Idaho is the outdoors at it's best.
