  In the Salmon River Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Whitehawk Trail is located quite a long drive from Mountain Home but if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. Idaho is a great place for hikers. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and if you happen to be in Valley County of Idaho, Whitehawk Trail is a great local
    trail for doing a bit of leg stretching.
Camping is available at Homers Campground, and Whitehawk Basin is a magnificent location here at Whitehawk Trail. That right there is a load of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the
Salmon River Mountains has it all. Deadwood River is a fine whitewater spot next to Whitehawk Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Barneys Park Campground is a great place to camp. Lots of folks from Lowman come to Whitehawk Trail, and since you're here, you could visit North Fork Whitehawk Creek. A wonderful place for whitewater paddling next to Whitehawk Trail is Deadwood River. Around Whitehawk Trail you donít get a lot of rainfall. January is the month that  
gets the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Whitehawk Trail all through the months of summer are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. For the period of the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Whitehawk Trail.
