  There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. All through the warm days of summer at Buck Creek Trail temperatures are generally in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Buck Creek Trail dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Buck Creek Trail is a wet spot that gets lots of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the
    year is January.
Lots of folks from Mount Sterling come to Buck Creek Trail, and Claylick Boat-in Campground is a glorious campground here. Camping at Buck Creek Trail is delightful fun, The Outpost Campground is a delightful local campground. Be careful coming to the Cumberland
Plateau Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Red River, and why not take a little spree to Little Cave Run if you're here.
No chance of getting bored in Kentucky if you like the outdoors. Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, Buck Creek Trail in Bath County, Kentucky is a perfect place for getting out. This river is so great. Near Buck Creek Trail you come across Fletchum Hollow which is a great spot to have a look at, and some close by water includes Joes Branch.
Buck Creek Trail is located quite a long drive from Mount Sterling but it's one of those places where hiking is great.
