  In Kentucky you never run out of outdoors fun. In the Cumberland Plateau Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails, it's a great hiking area. The high level of rainfall makes Racoon Loop a reasonably wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most; October on the other hand is the driest. Visit Buffalo Branch since you're here at Racoon Loop.
Yep, outdoors amusing stuff truly is plentiful here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is a very perfect place to
    stop by near Racoon Loop. There's so much to do here at Racoon Loop that you need to camp here for a while, Charit Creek Campground is a splendid spot for that. Racoon Loop is a trail quite far from Somerset but It's always fun to hike here. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone
but if it's for you then we recommend Cumberland River - Big South Fork, and you can stay the night at Great Meadow Campground.
Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and Racoon Loop in McCreary County, Kentucky is a really good place to spend some time. For the period of the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Racoon Loop, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Racoon Loop.
Don't forget to take a good little tour to Turkey Branch; there are some good whitewater spots on Cumberland River - Little South Fork.
